Here are our most resent “kids” We have had numerous pets throughout the years, ferrets, fish, a guinea pig, and two lizards, a leopard gecko and a bearded dragon.

At one time we had a 55 gallon fish tank that held a lot of fish. Bob was our first pet and he was a gold fish. He survived a long time and many houses. He was awesome.

Then came the guinea pig Fiona. She was so spoiled. We bought her the biggest cage we could find and she would run circles in it all day. Fiona would eat carrots and spinach everyday. She would hear the bag of spinach open and then smell it and she would sequel and sequel. We loved her a lot. She got sick about a year ago and died. 😦

Then came the Ferrets… We had the ferrets for only a short time. They were the funniest little things. There names were Tomasita and Jerry. Tomasita was just a baby when we got her. Jerry was older, we adopted him from Pet-co.

The two reptiles we had were cool and we had them for a good while. They required crickets a few times a week and Bruno the bearded dragon got kale or romaine lettuce every day. He loved his fresh greens. I had fun decorating the tank for him. The pet store wanted a lot of money for drift wood so I found some wood outside and put it in the freezer for two or three weeks and then put it in his house We got rid of the fish and put Bruno in the 55 gallon tank. In the end they both went to good homes.

Over the years we learned that having too many pets is not healthy nor affordable.

. . ..Our newest and only children for ever….. are two Quaker / monk parakeets and a very sweet cockatiel. The two monk’s are about five years old and “Face” the little cocaktiel is less than a year. The parrots are cool for the most part 🙂 When they are not squawking because they want something. They can talk and get into trouble whenever they want. Face fly’s around all the time especially when we want to leave the house. Sonja my fiance is the best with the birds. She loves them more than me 🙂 She spends a lot of time with them as much as she can.

A word about pet ownership, if you feel you must own them all be prepared to clean up a lot of poop and shell out a good amount of dough, in the end if it wasnt meant to be try to get them good homes.
